Benefits of joining a youth orchestra

Both string orchestras will offer a platform to rehearse, perform, gain experience and cover repertoire under the guidance of members of the Lurline Chamber Orchestra.
This musical education program will develop students' musical talents as well as build skills in teamwork, leadership and quick and positive thinking, benefiting them in all aspects of life.
Playing in an ensemble compliments and extends private practice at home. Not only is it motivating but promises to be a fun and enjoyable activity for keen young players. After all, coming together as a group to experience music with like-minded people is what music is all about!
We will be setting goals and preparing concerts for families and friends to attend. These will probably be at the end of each term with a major combined concert later in the year.

Auditions
After school at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Primary School, 193 Avoca Street, Randwick NSW 2031
Piano accompaniment will not be required.
Audition requirements are a short piece of your own choice as well as some sight-reading, a scale and a few short excerpts of music.
Minimum Standard
AMEB preliminary for primary
Grade 5 for secondary
This is a guide only. Students are not required to have completed these exams.

Orchestra Rehearsals
During NSW school terms at OLSH Primary School Randwick
Mondays 4.15 - 5.30pm

Cost per term
$250 20% discount available for second and subsequent siblings.
